Burt's bees lip shimmer quick review

Here's a quick review of some of my fave lip products!
They're the shimmer balms from Burt's Bees; I have the colours plum, peony and papaya. The names are not super original, but they describe the shades pretty well.

They have a nice creamy/ balmy texture. They're not super tacky or greasy, which is my favorite type of texture, it's kinda of a nice sweet spot. It's not so thin that it's gonna slip off your lips, and it's not super long wearing (so you avoid the dry and patchy lip look). And because, it's Burt's Bees and it's a balm, they feel nice on the lips. The only thing I noticed that could put some people off is that they fade a little bit with a lot of talking and you def need to reapply after eating. I don't mind it, because I just applying lip products in general. They don't stain, so when they wear off they don't look weird.
There' only one that doesn't have any shimmer (surprising considering they're called the lip shimmers) : the plum shade has a shinny look, like a creamy lipstick or balm. Peony has a slight shimmer, it's subtle. I think it just makes the lips shinnier and slightly plumper. The shade papaya has shimmer, almost glitter. I don't mind it, since it doesn't look frosty at all. This colour's really nice with the shimmer because it's a burnt orange, not a really bright one, it doesn't draw attention to the lip so much that you have a chance to notice the specks of gold in it.
Hoped you guys liked it!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm review!

Hi everyone! :)
I wanted to share a review of the Revlon Coloburst Matte Balm.

What are the claims about this product?

  • Gives a velvety matte look;
  • Has good amount of moisture;
  • Feels beyond comforting.
Of course, nothing about the staying power or the colour payoff! I wasn't sure what to think of the product at first. Honnestly, in my mind a balm can't be matte, it's something like a eos lip balm. But then I swatched them.
The Colorburst Matte Balms feel and look like a lipstick. I could tell from trying them in store that the staying power was nice... Even with make-up remover I still had stains on my hands! That and the pretty colours was enough to convince me to buy it haha!
What do I think of them after a couple of months?
  • They are matte, without making my lips look super dry;
  • They make you think of a balm in the sense that it has that tingle from menthol;
  • They have a really good colour payoff, you don't need a generous amount for the colour to show very nicely;
  • They go on smoothly;
  • They last the longest with a lipliner or if you blot them first (creating a bit of a stain) and reapply;
  • Most of the colour will stay even when eating and drinking;
  • When applied the ways mentionned above, they will make the lips really dry, but at first they feel really nice;
  • If applied without any lipliner or without blotting first, the colour doesn't stay when eating or drinking;
  • They do have weird smell, but it's not overpowering;
  • I didn't notice any bleeding outside the lip line.
Here's what they look like!

In general, I really like the Colorburst Matte Balm. I think that the only inconveniences for me are the smell and the dryness, but both a very mangeable! I really want to get other ones, but I'm not sure which ones. Right now, I own Sultry and Audacious, and I've barely worn the latter. I just feel like orange lipstick is meant for the summer haha! Let me know which shades are your favorites!
