My collection: Nude lipsticks and lip glosses

Hiiii :)
Here's my collection of nudes*! I was cleaning out my makeup collection and I suddenly realised I have a loooot of nudes, even though I rarely wear them? I probably wear them often and just not notice it.
*I didn't include lip products that tend to be pale mauves or pale pinks unless they look really natural. Some of these are for different undertones and skin tones than me, so just keep that in mind!

So here's the list of products, in order of swatches from left to right!
The mattes (might not be dry in the picture):
  • MeNow Generation II Long Lasting Lip Gloss in 30 and 18;
  • NYC Smooch Proof Lip Stain 16H in 492 Never Ending Nude;
  • Flower Beauty Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in Mauve Over.
The straight up lip glosses:
  • Nyx Butter Gloss in Tiramisu;
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in 260 Rosy Future;
  • Nyx Mega Shine Lip Gloss in 113 French Kiss.
The lip balm-y/lip butter types:
  • Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien;
  • Annabelle Lipsies Lip Balm in Hot Chocolate;
  • Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in 145 Ingenue;
  • Nyc City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color in 011 Brooklyn Brown Stone.
Lastly, the ones in lipstick bullets:

Makeup rant #1

Hiii :)
I needed to share my frustration with bad packaging with other makeup obsessed people! I purchased a lipstick from Flower Cosmetics, the line from Drew Barrymore, a while back. I would not recommend it at all, just because of the packaging! I hate to say it, because honestly, I have loved everything else that I own from Flower. I'm talking about the Lip Service Lip Butter only, I have tried the Kiss Me Twice Lip and Cheek Chubby, the Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby and the Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color and I have no complaints.
Look at it! It's so pretty! Of course, I wanted to try one. (Excuse the bad quality of the picture, I just got a new camera and I'm still figuring out how it works.)
So my problem is not the aesthetics of it, but the practicality. THE CAP DOES NOT STAY ON! I put it on and I had to do something out of my home. Within five minutes of being in my purse, the cap was off.
What bothers me the most is that since it's a lip butter, it's not long wearing. I'll HAVE to reapply at some point. It needs to stay in my purse the time that I am out of my house. I didn't buy this product to sit in my collection and only wear it when I'm home.
The product itself is nice, really pigmented and creamy, with loads of colour options. It's just not practical for me. If you have one, does it do the same thing? Is it just mine or the first version of the packaging?
Anyways, that was my rant. Honestly, I should've looked at the reviews first, because someone else has the same issue and I wouldn't have wasted my money.
On a more positive note, I really want to start posting on a more regular basis, which will be easier when I start my last year of university (yay!) next week. Sorry for disappearing for months and months.
Love you all!

Products I regret buying!

Hello everyone! :)
Here's a few thing I regret buying and why! Just a little disclaimer: these products didn't work for me, they weren't absolutely awful, just not a right fit for me. If you like them, leave me a comment and tell how you use it, I might be doing it wrong :).

I loooove the original Batiste Dry Shampoo! This Batiste Dry Shampoo Big and Bouncy XXL Volume did not work for me. It was hard to make it disappear in my hair; I normally spray dry shampoo in my roots, wait a few minutes and then brush it out or finger comb it out. This one took a lot of work. It also gave my hair a weird, thick texture. It didn't even give much more volume than the original.

This Revlon Photoready powder has shimmer. They're tiny, but they're there! Honestly, a powder is suppose to mattify my face. I just think that if it's not meant to be a powder highlighter (there's not enough shimmer to be one), then it shouldn't have glitter. It doesn't look too bad. I still use it on my most dry days, but it's not my fave.

This product has great reviews, but I can't agree with them. L'Oréal Infailible Silkissime eyeliner in black is too creamy. It smudges everywhere on me and it doesn't set. I always end applying too much even when it's well sharpened and applied with light pressure.

Do you see how the tip is kinda bent? I sharpened the eyeliner, put it in between my lids, squeezing my eye shut. It's an easy way to tightline. Unfortunately, it crushed the eyeliner. It also crumbled in my eyes, which is painful. So yeah, didn't like it.

This e.l.f Mineral Pressed Mineral blush in jet setter is really nice. It's matte and smooth. It's just too cool for my skin tone. It doesn't show up very well either, because I have a lot a natural redness in my cheeks. In general, I love those blushes.

Thanks for reading everyone!
Hope you enjoyed :)

Get ready with me : holiday with the best friends edition!

Hello everyone!
My friend Émilie always organises a Chritmas party, well it`s more of get together between good high school friends. She`s an a-ma-zing photographer and she took some pictures of me getting ready for the party. She was sweet enough to share them with me! I thought it would me make a nice post on here. If you have a moment please go check out her Facebook page, she's awesome!
I was going for subtle eyes, better skin and bold lips.
Of course, the first step is to put all my shit on Émilie's counter, so I can see what I'm looking for haha!

I started out by applying Marcelle`s BB cream Beauty Balm Skin Enhancer in light to medium. I like this BB cream because it doesn`t have a pink undertone. Like why would I want to cover the redness in my skin with something that`s pink?

I started by dotting the BB cream all over my face. I then blended it out using a flat top type of brush. If you`re familiar with Sigma brushes, it looks like the F80. This one, I'm not sure of the brand. My friend Nadine gave me a set of brushes for Christmas and that`s one of them!
For a BB cream, the coverage is not bad! A good part of the redness in my cheeks is covered.

For concealer, I used a well-known product. It`s the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer (holy shit that name is long!). I used another one of Nadine's gift, it`s supposed to look like the Sigma F86 (I think, I don`t own Sigma brushes, so this is just me remembering names from all the Youtube videos I watch). I blended the concealer with brush! I think it works pretty well, it depends on the concealer though. Almost forgot, I use the concealer in Light. I did also use the concealer to highlight my face, so I put some under my eyes (in that V shape), on my forehead, nose, cupid`s bow and chin.

Before setting my face, I applied a little bit of blush. It`s this cool thing from Flower Beauty, Drew Barrymore`s cosmetics line. It`s called Kiss Me Twice Lip and Cheek Chubby in Raisin the Roof. It`s a matte product, in a gorgeous berry colour, what`s not to love?

I used the e.l.f. Mineral Eye Brightener to set the highlighted places on my face. It helps highlight those area and since I tend to get oily there, it does double duty! The brush I'm using is Real Techniques. It comes from the core collection, they call it a contour brush. I just think it`s a nice multi-tasker.

I contoured my face using e.l.f. products. I used their Essential Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush. It`s a small, like really small, and fluffy angled brush. I used the Mineral Pressed Mineral Bronzer in Beach Bronze. It's an amazing bronzer, It`s so pigmented it`s almost too much haha! It blends well at least :). I put the bronzer in a lot a places. I did the usual under the cheekbones and forehead, but I also like to put some under my bottom lip and under my chin/ down my neck.

Then, I brushed some Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Drama in Soft Brown. It`s pretty good colour match for me. It keeps them in place, which is really all I need since my eyebrows are pretty full.

After the eyebrows, I did my eye and that was super easy.

I put on a Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo 24H Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe. I loooove this one, it is the only matte cream shadow I own and the colour is super interesting. It`s a nice grey leaning on purple. It doesn`t last super well on me, but this look was staying on my face for just a few hours.

I then used this quad by Sephora, unfortunately the name rubbed off so I'm not sure what it's called :(. It's beautiful and pretty pigmented. I used the grey shadow in the crease and the glittery beige in the inner corners of my eyes. I mostly used my fingers for this since I didn't have my eyeshadow brushes with me.
Before putting on mascara, I lined my water lines with L'Oréal Infallable Silkissime in Black. Honestly, I don't know if I would recommend this eyeliner. I've been trying to use it, but it's not giving me the results I want. It's almost toooo creamy, it doesn't just stay where I'm trying to put it. And it's so soft that when I lined my eyes the way I'm doing in the picture, it like squishes the tip and it becomes flatter. It also doesn't seem to set on me. If you have any tricks to work with this let me know!
Then I applied my mascara, which was the Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara in black. It's pretty nice, good enough volume but nothing special really.

Thanks for reading my get ready with me! I hope you enjoyed!

Swap Haul!

Hello everyone! :)
My friend Nadine and I did a makeup swap a couple weeks ago. We set an amount to spend for the swap. We got each other our fave makeup, while keeping in mind what would work for the other. She got me stuff from South Korea; she's obsessed with korean makeup and skin care!
I've tried some of it, but not enough to give full on reviews, but I will give my opinion on the one I have. If you've tried these items or heard good things about them, let me know :).
Here's what she got me!

Nadine gave a little intro note and notes on all the products. She's so sweet!

I haven't tried this stain on my lips yet! It swatches beautifully. I loooove the colour, during the summer time, I actually wear a lot or orange and coral lip colours. Unfortunately, it snowed here already and I feel like it's not the right season to wear it :(.

I suck at liquid liner and Nadine knows this hahaha! According to her, this one is easier to manage. I've only tried it once. I wasn't good at it :P, but it was really black and it didn't burn my eyes (liquid liners in the past have burned my lids). I'm excited to play with this some more!
I was sooooo excited when I saw this! It's a perfect colour for fall and winter. On top of that, I had never tried a stain before. It's a super nice shade. One coat looks super natural. I have very pigmented lips naturally, so it looks like my lips but better. Two coats is a little truer to what's in the packaging. The texture is really nice, it's like a gel. Bonus: it took a whiiile to dry up my lips. Can you guys tell I love this already?!

This looks so pretty! I tried it once and it looks super nice! It didn't have as much fall out as I was expecting, which was a nice surprise. I actually like the weird consistency Nadine described. I think it makes it almost easier to apply than normal pigments.
I've actually been using this a lot. I think I really like it! When I first spray it on, it itches a bit. It doesn't do that with my Urban Decay All Nighter spray. BUT, it disappears pretty quickly. It adds a bit of dewiness, not too much. It's a really nice finish! And it makes my makeup last a bit longer!
I've only tried this once, for not too too long, so I can't say how well it makes my makeup lasts. What I can say is, it did smooth my face very nicely. It smells like eucalyptus pretty strongly at first. It fades pretty quickly. I personally don't mind the smell :).

Hopefully, I didn't forget anything haha! I'm so excited to use these products some more. I really trusts Nadine's tastes and opinions, so I'm sure everything will become a favorite!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Haul :Winners

Hello everyone! :)
I went shopping a couple of weeks ago at Winners. They don't always have a lot of beauty stuff or stuff that interest me in general...This time, holy shit, there was sooooo many things I wanted. I limited myself to the things you'll see below.
I have the prices of everything. I'm a good girl I kept the receipt! Sadly, I don't know which product is which...
I got some Elf brushes and lip stains. The stains are awesome, but I haven't had a chance to reeaaally test out the brush set. I can tell you that I loooove the contour one!
I didn't test out any thing else yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to do reviews about some of the stuff soon. Let me know if you've heard any info about these products. I had never heard of the cream blush from Becca or the lipstick from Shiseido.

Prices aside, here's what I got in pictures :
